A species of Rosa which is frequent in Romania only in southern Transylvania and the southern part of the Cluj Hills. It is frequently passed in the releves for the much common Rosa canina despite the fact that it has a quite different habit, a much lighter colored foliage and deep wine-fragrant glandular leaves, petioles and peduncules. There are also two series of thorns on the stems which is very characteristic for this species.
